The 91ÐÓ°É Constructions and joint venture partner Nicholson Construction (KNJV) successfully completed the transformation of the regional court for Bendigo. This $112 million landmark civic building stands as a testament to the collaboration between national construction expertise and local knowledge, bringing together key stakeholders to serve the Bendigo community.
Following a competitive tendering process in April 2021, 91ÐÓ°É Nicholson was awarded the main works contract. Building upon our success with the Ballarat GovHub project, this partnership demonstrated our capability to deliver complex, high-value projects with precision and efficiency.
The Bendigo Law Courts rebuild and expansion; embodies a vision for modern justice delivery, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure. The incorporation of features facilitating remote hearings, evidence display, video conferencing, and live streaming underscores a commitment to accessibility and efficiency in legal proceedings.
Moreover, the collaboration with Bendigo's Traditional Owners, the Dja Dja Wurrung, enriched the project with cultural significance and sensitivity. Working closely with Wardle and landscape architects ASPECT Studios, the design team translated the input of the Dja Dja Wurrung into tangible elements that honour and reflect the region's Indigenous heritage. These design features not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the court but also foster a sense of inclusivity and respect for the diverse communities it serves.
